Este proyecto consta de 3 series y se sirve del árbol como eje –y línea- para establecer una experiencia fenomenológica, una escucha sensorial y atenta en la que ofrecer la oportunidad de sumergirse en el bosque –como en el medio audiovisual- para reconectarse con la temporalidad de los árboles y establecer un momento de vinculación íntima.

A través de una mirada metalingüística, sutil y poética del tiempo lento y de una narración suspendida se cuestiona los límites del lenguaje audiovisual para difuminar y abandonar la percepción habitual distinción entre persona y escenario. Esa visión antropocéntrica que nos hace mantener una distancia con el territorio, la cual no nos deja sumergirnos en las sensaciones corporales de la realidad que nos rodea.

Las obras audiovisuales retratan el sutil movimiento de los árboles con distintos factores climáticos y ambientales. En ellos, dos escenas yuxtapuestas modulan la voz, el ritmo de los árboles mientras interactúan unos con otros, mientras conversan en ese diálogo escondido que susurran al paisaje.

Con planos fijos y amplios, empieza situándonos en frente del paisaje, para poco a poco ir adentrando al espectador entre los árboles, a modo de pasos. Caminamos y nos detenemos a observar y escuchar.

Los planos fijos vuelven a llevarnos fuera de los árboles, donde si la experiencia sensorial transciende los límites del lenguaje, nos meceremos con ellos.

La instalación sonora nos sitúan en el centro de un dialogo entre árboles. Los sonidos del interior de los árboles capturados con un micrófono de contacto surgen desde altavoces situados en el interior de los troncos, rodeándonos con múltiples voces.

Sonidos del movimiento de los árboles entre ellos, con los factores climáticos y con el paisaje. Momentos donde el diálogo que mantienen es muy sutil, donde sus diálogos absorben todos los demás sonidos, dejando el paisaje en un “no-sonido” que sólo se percibe si participamos de él.

Las fotografías documentan árboles caídos en las distintas estaciones del año.

En ellas se confronta el registro morfológico y sistemático, la voluntad de control y exactitud con lo climático, lo cíclico y lo fragmentario acentuando la tensión entre persona y escenario, entre el aquí y el allí.

Eludiendo estrategias que sublimen y sacralicen al árbol –que nos sitúan en frente y no nos permiten ser paisaje- se ha optado por su carácter de huella y de proceso. La línea del árbol tanto como camino de entrada a las estrategias que definen al proyecto como de entrada al paisaje.

When trees speak is a project that uses the tree as axis –and line- to stablish a phenomenological experience, a sensorial and heedful listening offering the opportunity to immerse in the forest –as in the audiovisual media- to reconnect with the temporality of the trees and generating a intimate bond.

Through a suspended narrative I question the limits of the audiovisual language to blur and break off the habitual perception of division between person and stage. That anthropocentric view that makes us to keep a distance with the territory, not allowing us to submerge in the bodily sensations of reality around us.

The audiovisual works portray the subtle movement of the trees with different climatic and atmospheric factors. In them, two juxtaposed scenes modulate the voice, the rhythm of the trees interacting to each other, while they converse in that hidden dialog that they whisper to the landscape.

With fixed and wide shots, they start by placing ourselves in front of the landscape channelling the viewer slowly amid the trees, step by step.

We walk and we stop to observe and listen.

Finally, the static shots lead us out of the trees, where if the sensory experience goes beyond the limits of language, we will sway with them.

The sound installations place us in the middle of a dialogue between trees. The sounds captured with a contact microphone emerge from the bottom of the emptied trunks with multiple voices around us.

Sounds of the movements of the trees between them, with the climatic factors and the landscape. Moments where their dialogue is subtle, where their dialogues absorb all the sounds, leaving the landscape in a «no-sound» that is perceived only if we participate in it.

These photographic series document fallen trees along the different seasons.

In them, the morphologic and systematic register, the purpose of control and accuracy are confronted with the climatic, the cyclic and the fragment, highlighting the tension between person and stage, between here and there.

Eluding strategies of sacralisation and sublimation of the tree –that strategies that place us in front of and do not allow to be landscape- I remark their procedural and footprint character. Tree line both path to the strategies that define the project as entrance to the territory.
